For years I have been involved in guiding and scouting and most of those years I have spent either on stage or backstage performing or photographing Gang Shows... what's a gang show? Let me enlighten you!
A Gang Show is a variety style theatre performance by members of Scouts and Guides. It was started by a guy called Ralph Reader in 1931 as a variety show to help raise money for a swimming pool at a local campsite. Today there are shows all across the country and I love the opportunity to photograph the Nottingham one regularly.
So Gang Shows happen all year round across the world BUT to celebrate 90 years since that first ever gang show, cast from around 20 different Gangs have all got together to put on a one night only show at the Eventim Apollo! Yes where they put on Live at the Apollo and a load of my fav shows!
Having photographed GS80 10 years ago (you probably could have done that maths yourself lol) I was SO excited to get the opportunity to capture memories of this years celebration show too. I was also amazed at how much my photography has changed and improved over 10 years, but thats a whole different blog post!
You can purchase tickets from HERE and you will be in for an amazing evening of singing dancing and sketches! See you there!
