Lucy and Thorn had the most beautiful outdoor wedding back in July at Leez Priory, Essex. The weather could not have been better. It had been a roasting week and as a shade hopper I was worried about what level of lobster I would achieve being outside 90% of the day but Friday morning a little cloud coverage made the weather perfect!
If I can recommend anything from this wedding to future brides to be it would be to put a woman in your groom's party! Thorn had 2 and my goodness did they spoil the rest of the groomsmen! There were cookies paired with a nice rum to greet them as they arrived at groom prep, the girls both looked AMAZING in their suits (which according to Georgina did give the tailors a bit of a challenge!) and their Best Person speech was laugh after laugh!
The outside ceremony was beautiful with blossom trees from Cherubs florists framing the happy couple. Lucy looked stunning in her dress by Sottero & Midgley as they said their vows under the shade of Leez Priory's Great Tower.
The day was surprise after surprise as crazy golf from Mr Tees greeted guests after the wedding breakfast (which Emma & I MIGHT have tested out to make sure it was working properly!) The venue supplied an ice cream cart which went beautifully with the wedding cake made by Lucy, there was giant chess, a photobooth and my favourite... the outside dance floor.
This is the first outside dance floor I have photographed and in summer it stays light for a really long time! There were no inhibitions, especially once the Jagerbombs appeared and the dance floor was PACKED all night, providing an amazing show to the rest of the wedding guests.
I honestly had so much fun at this wedding, not only because my trip to Essex meant my second photographer could be Emma from Emmy Lou Photography but also because the entire wedding was filled with so many lovely welcoming people who all went to create the most amazing atmosphere all day long.
