For years I have been involved in guiding and scouting and most of those years I have spent either on stage or backstage performing or photographing Gang Shows... what's a gang show? Let me enlighten you!
A Gang Show is a variety style theatre performance by members of Scouts and Guides. It was started by a guy called Ralph Reader in 1931 as a variety show to help raise money for a swimming pool at a local campsite. Today there are shows all across the country and I love the opportunity to photograph the Nottingham one regularly.
With a pandemic break (how sad that's now a common phrase) the gang are BACK and rehearsing hard for their first show since 2019. Taking place at the Theatre Royal Nottingham in March 2023 tickets are NOW ON SALE!
